How It Works
We created a home-run derby where little league participants get to hit baseballs out of the park and raise funds from friends, family members and local businesses to support our local children’s hospital in Long Beach.
Each player’s sponsorship gets them three balls. The players are gauged on their aggregate distance hitting the three balls. Winners by age category receive trophies. The money raised is paid directly to the Hospital.
Opening day
On opening day, Itai Conforty and the Little league circle of leaders will have the opening remarks to the event and will invite a representative from the hospital to address the Little League players and their parents on the main stage in the baseball field.
A number of children who have been diagnosed with cancer will be invited to hit the first balls out of the park. A Smack Cancer baseball bat will be given to them as a token of our appreciation.
A check representing the amount of the donations will be handed to the representative of the board of the Jonathan Jaques Children's Cancer Center.
